Summary: A Jabber server available on ObjectWeb

May, 19 2006 - ObjectWeb is proud to announce the availability of its Jabber service for the developers of the community. The server is accessible to registered developers of the ObjectWeb's Forge and whose user account is included in a project group.

The server name is “jabber.objectweb.org”. Each developer can access it by using its forge account properties. The Jabber identifiers (JID) to use look like USERNAME@jabber.objectweb.org />
The Jabber server installed is based on Wildfire an Open Source implementation, it proposes the main following features:
personal communication
groupchat and Multi-User-Chat (MUC)
security connection using TLS or old-SSL implementations
communication with other Jabber servers (tested with jabber.org)
Web client deployed such as Jwchat – an Ajax client (
https://jabber.objectweb.org/jwchat), Jeti – a Java applet (https://jabber.objectweb.org/jeti) and Xiffian – a Flash client (https://jabber.objectweb.org/xiffian)
good implementation of the XMMP standard (compliant at 97%)
