Summary: Orbeon Forms 3.7.1 Released

We are glad to announce that Orbeon Forms 3.7.1 is now available for
download:

http://www.orbeon.com/forms/download

Orbeon Forms 3.7.1 includes over 400 improvements since version 3.6,
notably:

* New Form Builder preview. Orbeon Form Builder is the visual form
designer which allows you to build and deploy forms in minutes right
from your web browser.

* Form Runner. Form Runner is the Orbeon Forms runtime environment,
which manages form definitions and form data, handles search,
validation, and takes care of the plumbing necessary to capture,
save, import and export form data.

* Noscript mode. The "noscript mode" provides enhanced accessibility
for certain screen readers and allows you to target browser that
have JavaScript disabled.

* Enhanced user interface controls. Improvements include reusable
components based on XBL 2, improved date and time controls, and much
more.

* Enhanced XForms 1.1 support. Standards matter to us and we continue
to improve our support for the XForms 1.1 specification.

* Bug-fixes, performance, and stability improvements. As always, we
are working hard on making Orbeon Forms a robust platform!

Subject: Orbeon form builder pages running outside orb

Hi, I am new to the orbeon and doing a research on that. I created a page using the form builder and got the XHTML code through the Edit Source option. Then i pasted the code in my app as a jsp page and added the filter mapping in web.xml as per the orbeon documentation.I also added the orbeon filter jar to the WEB-INF\lib directory. When i try to run the jsp from the browser, it displays a blank page. It renders the page if i remove all the form rendered tags (Ex : fr:view,fr:grid etc.) from the jsp. It also displays an error with description as something like $form-resources undeclared variable. So i replaced the $form-resources\details... with the Xforms notation of referring the xml instance (instance('name')\data....). It was rendering the page but the data is not getting submitted . Its because the form instance declaration, bindings inside the model needs to be in a order. Is there a way we can run the form builder generated page outside the orbeon war with the XHTML code remains unchanged?. The next one is unable to have labels outside the component .I have a requirement which needs the label to be in one TD and component in other TD, enclosed in TR. If i move the label out of the component tags, the label is not getting displayed.Anyone knows how to seprate the labels from components?. Can we have the formatting tags like <xhtml:table><xhtml:tr><xhtml:td>...etc generated in form builder , as its generating the form runner specifc tags fr:view,fr:grid? Can we have the xpath expressions in a separate xml file referred by the XForms group tag? Thanks, Suvedhan.J
