Notes:

Release Name: 1.1 beta 1

Notes:
WARNING !!! :
A minor (but annoying) bug has been detected on XQuark
command-line demo tools. When using them on Windows, the
shell window from where it is launched is closed in the end
by an hazardous 'exit' command. Just remove the 'exit' from
the launch command line.

This is a new minor release of XQuark Bridge.

XQuark Bridge expands existing relational databasefunctionalities
with advanced XML import/export capabilities. It supports
flexible extraction and publishing of relational data into
any target XML format, using the XQuery language. Using a
powerful mapping language, it can also perform efficient
insertion of structured XML data into existing relational
tables, while taking into account the database integrity
constraints and transforming the implicit relations appearing
in the XML document into explicit ones in the database. For
both storage and extraction functions, XQuark Bridge relies
on the XQuark implementation of W3C XML Schema.

XQuark Bridge currently supports the following databases:

    * MySQL 3.23.X and 4.0.x
    * Oracle 8i and 9i
    * MS SQLServer 2000
    * Sybase 11.9.2

Changes: This release features the following enhancements: * Support of the "W3C Working Draft 12 November 2003" XQuery syntax. * Support for functions (views) and modules. * Support for computed constructors. * Enhanced support of standard XQuery serialization allowing (as much as possible) the user to get uniform and conformant output from the various RDBMS supported. * New abstract JDBC types supported (BINARY, VARBINARY, LONGVARCHAR, LONGVARBINARY, BLOB, CLOB) with somme limitations (see below). * Preliminary support of conditional expressions in the return clause. * Storage function: mapping language enhancements (syntax, features & performance tuning).
